This is the current lore dump on my original species called the Bergherren that have the main tribe in the Pennines mountain range, England. It is a work in progress as I need to do the art and refine the grammar. I suck at grammar.

Biology-

The Bergherren have a remarkable biology that allows them to age into adulthood fast and live long lives to around 1,000 when healthy. When reaching adulthood, they stay young till about 700 years depending on lifestyle, genes and outside factors. The average height for a Bergherren male is around 8ft, towering above mankind.
The males have remarkable strength. Their muscles are extremely efficient with the fibres they have and can carry a car with ease. Their strength makes fighting more dangerous as those that don't have the strength and endurance to withstand their attacks will perish.

The five senses they possess are a lot more remarkable than a human's. Their large ears are not just for show as not only are they larger for more sound reaching to their eardrums, their hearing is a lot more keen to begin with.
A Bergherren's sense of taste isn't all that much better, only slightly better but as it is more accepting of vegetables than humans.
Their sight is impressive as they can identify one another from a mile away. They use their sense of sight to see animals hiding in the wild, see better in the dark and see smaller details.
Their sense of smell while a lot better than a humans, its not dog-like. They can smell a prey nearby or pungent plants. Certain Bergherren smell a certain way from the food they eat, the rooms they stay in, the man they have prolonged physical contact with, the sweat on their skin, whereabouts outside they were and such. The smells acts as a cue rather than as an identifier.
Their sense of touch mainly serves as a way to sexually connect with each other. Bergherren enjoy being touched by friends or lovers. Their bodies are covered in sensitive vellus hair that allow them to react more strongly to being touched. While fine fine hairs cover their skin, they do not have body hair or facial hair. As they come of age, they only grow pubic hair and the males grow armpit hair as an indication of maturity. Bergherren find human body hair a strange curiosity.

The teeth of the Bergherren are great for cutting through meat and grinding up plant matter. Their omnivorous diets are well accommodated. When they hunt, Bergherren use their claws and teeth to put down large wild animals, sinking their sharp teeth into the necks of prey. Not only do they use their teeth for hunting, Bergherren use their teeth to attack each other during fights. A bite from a Bergherren is very painful and damaging as their canines and incisors are very sharp and can tear tough flesh very easily.
During intimacy, they may get too excited and bite one another which they apologise for. The ones that can bear the pain let it happen anyways as the mouth is a source of sensory experiences, being more sensitive to it than people.

The Queen's Biology-

The Queen's biology is slightly different than the Bergherren men. Because of the complexity of her reproductive system, Queens mature in 15 years to ready the arduous and lifelong task of giving birth to well over 100 babies.
After sexual maturity, she menstrates as a sign for the tribe that she's ready but more civilised tribes would wait for the full 15 years to be certain she is ready for pregnancy as complications and harm will greatly impact the while tribe.
The pregnancy period is around 11 months as the baby gestation inside her. The period is slightly longer than human pregnancy due to the complex biology of Bergherren, needing more time to develop their bodies. Her first few times giving birth can hurt a lot like a human woman's labour but over time, she becomes used to the strain and eventually gives birth more effortlessly.
Once she gives birth, she rests until she menstrates to refresh her uterus tissue and the peak fertile part of her cycle has been reached then she repeats the process each year.
A queen can give birth until around 600 years old. In her lifetime, she could give birth to 500 babies if she never stopped the birth-giving cycle. For genetic diversities sake, she travels when she becomes the oldest Queen when a third Queen is born to mate with Bergherren of other tribes.

Unlike the rough attitudes of the men, Queens tend to be very gentle, nurturing and emotional. The Elite class of Bergherren have been around Queen's long enough to know how to treat her with respect and consideration. The more gentle personality is her motherly instincts being extended to everyone in the tribe. The men are aroused by her gentleness, acting as a reminder of what they are fighting for.

Because of her lesser built muscles, Queens are not as strong as the men but humans should still be wary of her as a Queen's muscles are still as tough as a human body builder's even if she doesn't work out.

Social Treatment-

Because of how rare a female is in the Bergherren species, any female that joins the tribe is treated as sacred, important and worthy of protecting with one's life in a literal sense. The Elites as well as the Queen's father are tasked with guarding her and tending to her wellbeing. Low rank men are not allowed to casually approach the Queen or offer her gifts. Middle rank men still cannot approach her but can bring gifts for but has to leave them in the Treasure Room for her to decide whether or not to accept.

Queens tend to ignore social ranks and doesn't mind talking to lower rank men that are not her sons. She is generally more open minded and kind. If the Elites catch her talking to a low rank man that's not her son, they would beat him up when she's not around and when she hears of the violence, she is appalled but the Elites never listen to her plea for kindness to all tribesman. Queens dislike pointless fighting and violence.
Because the men love the Queen and want to be seen more favourably, a Queen can use suggestion to have men do what she wants. The Elites use is as a chance to force lower rank men to do the hard work so the Elites can present the final results and claim credit.

Diet-

The diet of a Bergherren is onmivorous but mostly composed of meat than plants. Low rank men go out to hunt for small animals or deer to bring back for eating as well as wild herbs.

Farmers keep cows, sheep and pigs for meat and chickens for eggs primarily. When an animal is slaughtered, the dedicated butchers strips the meat from the bones, preserve some for winter storage and the rest for the day's meal.

Some food gets brought back from human civilisation but it only lasts so long and costs so much as well as getting it transported is an ordeal so it should be treated as a treat for the tribe instead of actively relied upon. Bergherren can eat meat raw with little problems as their bodies are able to metabolise blood and fend off microbes that would harm humans. Some even drain the blood of bodies they are about to eat so they can get sustenance from it.
When in the human world, the Bergherren tend to not like the overly processed, sugary, fatty, salty, artificial food and get strange looks when they talk about mostly eating meat and not liking sweets or commonly loved treats.
There are some food items they do like such as pasta, beans, cheese, nuts and other natural food humans can cultivate. The city dwelling Bergherren stockpile food if they plan to go back to their tribe. The long life food like pasta gets stockpiled like crazy as they are cheap as well. The elite get priority for the imported food and the lower ranks get the surplus of pasta and baked beans.
When food is imported, any plastic waste is taken away by the man who brought it as they know how damaging plastic can be.

When a Bergherren dies from a battle or execution, the low ranks take the body to the butcher for him to prepare the flesh for consumption. Cannibalism is only done by low rank men as the practice is seen as bad. The low rank men are mainly glad that they can have a meal they dont have to share with the higher ranks. The bodies themselves have a great amount of meat on them so one body can feed around 10 men. Everything but the hair, bones and stomach are consumed or anything that is hard to eat.
When the body has all the edible matter consumed, the bones are placed in a catacomb chamber, a braid is made with thenhair as a rememberance piece on the outside and any unclaimed accessories are buried with the bones.

As a form of attack, Bergherren would bite another and purposely drink his blood by sucking on the bite wound. Bergherren like the taste of blood but the attack is usually done by very aggressive men that want to actively harm others as wounds are very painful. There is a version of the act done between two consenting Bergherren where one would let the other bite him to draw blood and drink it as he bleeds. It is a very intimate act done between lovers as a sign of trust and sharing of sustanance. When times are dire, Bergherren bloodshare during food shortages to help one another.

Hunting-

Low rank members go out to hunt in the nearby forest to hunt for small animals or deal with the rabbits in the vegetable patches. Rabbits are favoured by hunters because they are pests, feed a single man and breed rapidly. Hunting is done by low rank tribesman because of the handling of carcasses and the bad smell that lingers around him. Killing small animals doesn't bring glory to the huntsman like fighting does. On the flipside, when a huntsman brings back a deer, the tribe are happy at the great increase of food and the glory of taking down a large animal. Since Britian doesn't have many large animals to take down so hunters are left with mostly small animals.

When walking through the forest, hunters would aim their arrow at animals like squirrels, foxes, badgers and any animal that wanders into their land...including cats and dogs because the concept of pets doesn't exist to the Bergherren. Keep your pets away from their land. As well as hunting, foraging for edible plants, herbs and berries is a duty done in tandem. Wild garlic is popular in the main tribe for adding a strong flavour to meals. Blackberries are abundant late summer and are a favourite snack around the time of year they grow. Elderberries are harvested to make drinks to boost immunity during winter, especially for the queen so she and her unborn baby stay in good health during harsh times.

The process of food providing gets credited to the chef as they make the food more delicious, prepare it for the tribe and create the atmosphere in the food chamber. The Elites give their thanks to the chefs and eat the meal in their own corner. The thanks for hunting and foraging mainly comes from fellow low ranks and kinder upper ranks.

Socialisation and Closeness-

Even amongst fierce competition that is daily life, the Bergherren can find friendship and romantic relationships between one another, even between ranks.
Fathers would check up on their sons, making sure they are OK, give advice to and helping out with any problems they may have. The fathers do care about their son's wellbeing but he gives him enough space to figure things out on his own to avoid becoming too dependent.

When Bergherren are not doing their obligations, they like to relax in the living chambers of the cave. They can be seen doing a range of things from napping, cleaning themselves/each other, snacking, talking to one another, cuddling with their friends or boyfriends and more. The ranks tend to stick with their own but middle rank Bergherren don't mind lower ranks talking to them and are very capable of having amicable interactions, sharing stories, training together, talking about their sons, etc.
The men don't have any privacy for they haven't invented the concept nor of modesty either so the main nuisance is when others are being noisy while the resting men are trying to sleep.

When sleeping, Bergherren like to sleep with another man for company, comfort or for romance. Even simple friends would sleep in the same bed, cuddling if it means not sleeping alone. Boyfriends love the closeness of sleeping with one another and typically having romantic closeness then intercourse with each other before turning in for the night.

Sexuality-

Because of the 99% male population ratio, the men still have the desire to mate with the Queen when he doesn't have access to her. To fill the gap, Bergherren men like to have sexual relationships with each other, short term and long term. They experience sexual attraction to one another, admiring other's bodies, physical prowess, style and genitals.

WARNING FOR HUMANS- Do not touch Bergherren on the torso with your hands for too long, it is a gesture to initiate intimacy as they loved being touched. The arms are the least sexual part for them, still refrain from prolonged physical contact as touch can be easily interpreted as sexual if you're not careful. They will rape your bumhole thinking you gave the OK.

Tribesman do not have a concept of queerness the way humans do, they have a natural inclination to be attracted to both men and women. Homosexual activity has no stigma or messy history behind it in the Bergherren species, they can show love towards each other without pushback.
Heterosexual attraction serves as their means of keeping the population going. Males have a strong desire to mate with the Queen and have children with her, spending time with her while she's pregnant and receiving affection from her that he loves.
Homosexual attraction serves as a means to fulfil a social need as men desire closeness when not with the Queen. Bergherren's brains have developed male-male attraction as the men can go through long periods not mating with the Queen so they have sexual closeness with each other to ease their urges. To them, feeling attracted to another man is the same sort of feeling as being attracted to the Queen.
Males love sexually interacting with each other that friends can do intimate things to each other without forming much of an attachment but they love it more when their boyfriends does things to them.

When a Bergherren wishes to initiate closeness, he would run his hands across his chosen man's body as a way to wordlessly ask for consent. If granted, they would initiate in closeness. Intimate interactions tends to be very open even towards lower rank men.

Some men are exclusively attracted to males, only wanting a boyfriend to love and hold. The only reason the homosexuality would be frowned upon is that mating and having children is a vital role for all men to do so homosexuals either mate anyways or do more highly regarded work to get others off his back.
Very rarely are men exclusively heterosexual due to the disadvantage of not liking the closeness commonplace in tribes. A heterosexual man would be extremely unpopular for his exclusion of common bonding rituals and practices.

The men value their genitals very much. One of the cruelest acts you could ever do to a Bergherren is castrate him. If castrated, he would rather die than continue living without his genitals, they would even asked to be killed so therefore, the crime of castration is treated the same as murder though by proxy, the punishment being death. The murderer will be killed first so the victim can witness him die for peace of mind then he will be put down afterwards, comforted by the fact his low-rank comrades can eat his flesh and be nurished.

Tournaments-

The male Bergherren take part each year for breeding rights with the Queen or Queens. Anyone can participate. Tournaments are usually hand-to-hand combat without weapons to keep it fair and about strength, the thing Bergherren value the most. The use of the body li,e hands, feet, head, claws, teeth are permitted. When more than one Queen is present, the combatants are divided and sons or brothers of the Queen are sorted away to prevent inbreeding.

The goal of the rounds is to incapacitate the opponent either by overpowering, knocking out, making him surrender or even killing the opponent and is the only time murder is allowed, though rare. When the downed opponent is announced the loser, no further attacks are permitted and both combatants must leave the ring. A winner attacking the loser is a disqualifiable offense.

The first few rounds tend to be the most casual rounds as the men like to put on a good show with their bodies, rousing up the audience for the future rounds. Said future rounds is where the stakes become high as the men really want to mate with the Queen he's competing for. The later rounds is where the sportsmanship has a habit of dissolving. The claws try to tear of chunks of flesh, the teeth aim too close to the jugular for comfort, a friend can easily become an enemy. It's down to the individuals what they will do.

When the winner of the tournament is announced, he gets to live in the Queen's chamber, wait for the peak fertility and have sex to bring about another tribe member in hopes to have a girl. After the Queen gives birth and menstrates, the tournament happens again and the cycle continues.

The tournaments are mainly a product of civilised tribes as in the past, Queens have been put in danger from fights between the men who wanted to mate with her and didn't let her have a way to let her choose or make it fair. Queens used to choose her mates but it put a lot of pressure on her as men used to be too smothering with fake or over performative affection. The tournament idea came about and was proven to be very popular and a good way to allow only the strongest and fittest to breed with the Queen, giving her safety from the chaos.
Smaller tribe groups like travelling units either gave small scale wrestling fights as the decider or take turns impregnating the Queen. Harsher units would still have full-scale fights, using lethal attacks to kill competing men or some would go as far as rape the Queen. The civilised tribes want to exterminate horrific tribes like them, take their Queens and offer a more safe and delightful breeding cycle. Tournaments may seem strange or even offensive to outsiders but it is the product of keeping the Queens safe and providing them with ideal mating partners for the whole tribe. Queens do enjoy muscular men fighting on her behalf, their glorious bodies put her in the mood to mate with the men. Being a prize is a lot more favourable than choosing, being raped or getting mistakenly killed in a group fight.

Transformation-

Bergherren can transform between various forms to disguise themselves when outside of their territory. The transformation is a toggle style power so they don't need to concentrate all the time as they need to think about their alter egos. When a Bergherren becomes familiar with an animal, he can transform into it. The Bergherren tend to have a favourite form they would explore the outside world with.

When transforming into humans, they can retain their clothing for ease of blending into human society. Bergherren can alter the species they transform into to pick the best look for the given situation. Same applies to human races, altering their skin colour, facial structure and build to easily blend in with the foreigner-colonised Britain. However, the gender of a transformed Bergherren cannot change and will always be male no matter what.

When a Bergherren dies while transformed, his body stays in the form he is in. Because of that, a lot of Bergherren die in an alternate form and are unable to have their deaths marked and acknowledged by their tribe. Due to the fact, transforming into an animal and not taking caution for predators will lead to their names becoming forgotten.

Treasure Room-

While venturing into the human world, Bergherren would bring things they find interesting back with them from objects with sentimental value to extremely rare things worth £100k+, far from the price they paid over 100 years ago.
The room is accessible by anyone though possessions are still protected so you cannot just take anything unless it's in the designated sharing spot. Gifts for the Queen from Middle rank men put their offereing in the sharing section for the Queen to decide on her own if she accepts it or not. Rejected gifts are then up for grabs.

There's no big attempt to control the moisture of the air so some items may get damaged over time and rare objects have been ruined from air moisture. History nerds would still have a blast looking through the Treasure Room though.
